Stouffville Joint Venture Physio Team
Growing up in the Markham-Stouffville area, Phil went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2012. His clinical internship was completed with a distinction for exemplary performance in outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy.
Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Sue has provided treatment in a wide variety of settings including hospitals and outpatient clinics. Sue has added to her portfolio of services by now offering the GLA:D program. GLA:D provides treatment for patients with osteoarthritis as well as preparing people who are to undergo joint replacement surgery.
Quinn Powell-Jones was brought up in the Markham-Stouffville area. He obtained a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Queens University in succession to graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University.
Akshay graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in 2021, and completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in 2023.
Colleen graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario in 1991 and has extensive clinical experience including charitable work in Africa doing community-based rehabilitation. Colleen's focus is a holistic approach to neurological rehabilitation of adults and children with complex neurological and traumatic injuries and conditions.
Isaac graduated with a Bachelor's degree with honours in Strength and Sports Conditioning from the Limerick Institute of Technology in 2021. Isaac continued his academic pursuits and completed his Master's degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick in 2023.
Alan is a Registered Massage Therapist that has been working in the rehab field for over 10 years. Prior to becoming an RMT, Alan worked as an Athletic Therapist in many multidisciplinary clinics.
Jordan is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from Humber College. He has experience treating high-level athletes and enjoys treating those living with chronic injuries. Jordan's treatment philosophy is ``one size does not fit all``; he strives to create unique treatment plans for all his patients.
Yan is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and a has a passion for massage therapy, health, and wellness. She joins this Stouffville team with many years of massage experience. Yan specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, trigger point therapy and hot stone massage.

Phil Genesis
Growing up in the Markham-Stouffville area, Phil went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2012. His clinical internship was completed with a distinction for exemplary performance in outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy. His proven skills in manual therapy and exercise prescription allow him to design and deliver effective treatment plans. Phil’s strong academic and clinical background, along with his continuing education courses within the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (Level 3), medical acupuncture, concussion rehab, and athletic taping, lead to positive outcomes in helping his patients reach a full functional recovery.Amanda Gruskovnjak

Sue Gerrard
Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Sue has provided treatment in a wide variety of settings including hospitals and outpatient clinics. She has vast experience in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions and has a special interest in total joint replacement rehabilitation. Under the new management of Stouffville Joint Venture Physiotherapy, Sue continues to provide the same compassionate service as always. Notably, Sue has added to her portfolio of services by now offering the GLA:D program. GLA:D provides treatment for patients with osteoarthritis as well as preparing people who are to undergo joint replacement surgery. In her spare time, Sue enjoys meeting people, gardening and spending time with her family.

Quinn Powell-Jones
Quinn Powell-Jones was brought up in the Markham-Stouffville area. Quinn has a strong interest in musculoskeletal, neurological and vestibular conditions. He utilizes an evidence-based approach to his physiotherapy treatments. He offers a wide variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, exercise, athletic taping, acupuncture, and education. Quinn is determined to help patients achieve their goals and prevent the reoccurrence of injuries and pathologies. In his spare time, Quinn enjoys strength training, running, scuba diving and practicing his golf swing.

Akshay Misir
Akshay graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in 2021, and completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in 2023. He was born and raised in Markham and grew up playing many sports throughout his childhood. He has a special interest in helping young athletes. He believes in physical therapy as an effective intervention for improving physical function and quality of life. He has treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions through various clinic settings. His treatment approach is patient-centred and hands-on, consisting of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and education to help patients reach their goals.

Colleen Hunt
Colleen graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario in 1991 and has extensive clinical experience including charitable work in Africa doing community-based rehabilitation. Colleen's focus is a holistic approach to neurological rehabilitation of adults and children with complex neurological and traumatic injuries and conditions. She is trained in a variety of specialized courses including Neurodevelopmental Treatment / Bobath, Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization. Colleen's outside interests include travel, camping, hiking and biking with her family.

Alan is a Registered Massage Therapist that has been working in the rehab field for over 10 years. Prior to becoming an RMT, Alan worked as an Athletic Therapist in many multidisciplinary clinics, which means he brings a unique skillset into his treatments. Alan's treatment approach is simple: find the cause, treat the cause! When he's not working, Alan enjoys exercising and playing basketball.

Yan is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and a has a passion for massage therapy, health, and wellness. She joins this Stouffville team with many years of massage experience. Yan specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, trigger point therapy and hot stone massage. Each massage is custom to a clients individual needs, and is delivered with a very caring and professional demeanour. Yan’s other passions in life include spending time outdoors, traveling, fitness, animals and spending time with family and friends.
